You are running for mayor! And this is your first rally!

Ever wished that politicians could speak about issues you cared about? If you're a young person between age 10 and 18 yrs old, now's your opportunity to speak in public as if you were running for Mayor. Declare your candidacy, and let the people know what you stand for and how you want to help your community!

Participants must submit their speech (3 min. long or approximately 500 words) that they are prepared to deliver in front of a live public audience as if it were the first rally of their campaign. The top 10 submissions from each age group will be invited to perform their speeches in front of friends, family, and community members, as well as a panel of local community leaders and political office holders. 

This is a non-partisan event. All backgrounds welcome.

Cash awards will be given for 1st place ($500), 2nd place ($250), and 3rd place ($100) for middle school division and high school division. 

Applicants must submit a written speech to democratsofpasfoothills@gmail.com by Sunday, June 30, 2025. The top 10 speeches submitted from each division will be notified by Monday, June 30, 2025 to deliver their speeches on the day of the event.

Speech Contest will be held at Memorial Park (Amphitheater) 222 Sierra Madre Blvd, Sierra Madre, CA 91024

SATURDAY, JULY 12, 2025 (2-4PM)

Event is free. Lawn seating. Attendees must bring their own lawn chairs.
