 Overview:

SoftCharge is a small Newton program that allows a easy selection of the type of battery installed in your Newton. If you are using rechargeables in your battery holder you always will get wrong capacity readings. Not so with SoftCharge.
Select between:

batteries.

If you insert a AkkuPack (either modified battery holder or a original APPLE product), the Newton always recognizes a NiMh battery type, no matter what you select (and it's OK this way!). Remember that SoftCharge doesn't help you in charging batteries in your Newton. You still need a modified battery holder to charge inside the Newton. But it is of great help if charging batteries in a charging station.
