CANDLE Youth Pride

CANDLE Youth Pride provides numerous trainings for youth-serving professionals, parents, and young people.  Training topics include numerous subjects related to the prevention of drug use, risky behaviors, and violence amongst youth.  CANDLE works with schools and organizations to create the most appropriate training for your unique needs.

TRUST

TRUST is a support group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ+) high school students and their supportive allies. It provides a safe, structured setting in which youth can discuss issues related to sexual orientation. Facilitated by professional social workers, topics include isolation, communication and healthy decision-making.

TRUST meets from 6:30 - 8:00 pm every

2nd and 4th Tuesdays at the CANDLE office.

LUX - Living Unique Experiences

LUX is open to gender expansive youth (e.g. transgender, gender-queer, third gender, and non-binary youth) and allies ages 12-18 .  Topics can range from coming out and dealing with isolation to navigating healthcare providers and healthy relationships. Facilitated by gender expansive members of the CANDLE staff who provide a safe and welcoming environment for youth to discuss their identities with their peers.

LUX meets from 6:30 - 8:00 every

1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at the CANDLE office.

Leadership Project

The Leadership Project is a mentorship program for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ+) young adults aged 18-26. Participants learn leadership, facilitation, time management, and decision making skills while assisting in planning and running events for the LGBT community. Events include Common Threads, activities at Rockland Pride, and school-based activities such as Breaking the Silence and Ally Week.

The Leadership Project meets weekly at some times of the year, and bi-weekly at other times.

Young Adult Group

A space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ+)

young adults (18-26) to connect, gather, share and network with peers as they enter adulthood.

The Young Adult Group meets from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. every

3rd Tuesday of the month at the CANDLE office.
