What to expect

SR 108 construction
Three closures of the highway are planned are between summer and fall. WSDOT will give advance notification before the closures.

SR 108 closure locations

  • SR 108 at milepost 7.6 to milepost 8.8 west of Eich Road
  • SR 108 between West Hurley Waldrip Road and Eich Road

During each closure, travelers will detour via US 101 and SR 8 in Thurston and Grays Harbor counties.

US 101 construction
Beginning late July, crews will begin work on both directions of US 101. The work zone is near the Thurston-Mason County line. The work will remove and replace a culvert that crosses under directions of the highway.

WSDOT will keep people moving. Crews will reconfigure the highway to allow for both directions of travel.  One lane in each direction will remain open with a reduced speed limit of 45 mph.

These temporary changes will remain in place until crews build new bridges that carry US 101 over Griggs Creek.

When work is complete, crews will move traffic back with two lanes open in each direction.
