A monthly chronicle of the nightly broadcast.

Issue No.8 | March 3, 2025

For many in the Quite Frankly community, we are preparing to spring ahead with turning our clocks forward, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, observe the Lenten season, and welcome the vernal equinox. It’s a busy time filled with hope, reflection and renewal.

Whether you are thinking about planting a vibrant garden, incorporating a new exercise regimen into your daily routine, or just taking comfort in the promise of brighter days ahead, we hope this March issue of the Bulletin provides a companion as you delve into all of the wonders of our world. We have special features from two fan-favorite guests about the Ides of March and the business of archaeology. Each provides a unique glimpse into our storied history and remarkable civilization.

In addition to these exclusives, we have delectable Irish recipes submitted from fellow Franklies, fascinating pieces by loyal members of the Quite Frankly staff and so much more. Thank you for joining us for another marvelous month.

We’re so lucky that you’re here.

Behind the Scenes

The 1st Film Club Review

Christopher Nolan’s 2014, Interstellar, paints Earth's future with a global crop blight and second Dust Bowl which are slowly rendering the planet uninhabitable, sending former (now secret) NASA space pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and a team of researchers through a wormhole and across the galaxy to find out which of three planets could potentially be mankind's new home.

This film was a wild ride through space and the fundamental ideas of time-travel, causing some Franklies to have a tough time suspending our current reality and beliefs, while others felt Nolan portrayed a touching and emotional experience weighing the significance of saying goodbye to your own family, for the “greater good” of humanity.

With this first go at Film Club, we really enjoyed maintaining all the interactive and cultural analysis charm of dissecting a piece of art, like we do with literature in Book Club. It gave us a lot more of an opportunity for dynamic discussion because we were able to talk about visuals and music on top of only a plot summary.

See more of the conversation with fellow Franklies on the forum.

NEXT FILM CLUB MONDAY, APRIL 21 - Become a sponsor before April 21 to join us for Alfred Hitchcock’s, Rear Window, featuring James Stewart and Grace Kelly. Confined to a wheelchair after an accident, a recuperating news photographer (James Stewart) spends his time watching the occupants of neighboring apartments through a telephoto lens and binoculars and becomes convinced that a murder has taken place. Be sure to grab some popcorn, watch the movie when it’s convenient for you and join us with your insights on the 21st!

Welcome, Mike May!

We’d also like to officially welcome Mike May as Quite Frankly’s Media Production Manager. Mike has been with the team since the Zedalza New York days and has been feverishly working to revamp intermissions, end credits and will soon be tackling, in a much needed way, the intro video and all related network bumpers, commercials, etc. Welcome to the team, Mike! We appreciate you and all your efforts already, thanks for polishing up the place!

Archaeology Exposed

BY MICHAEL COLLINS, Wandering Wolf Productions

What if everything we’ve been told about archaeology is a carefully crafted story? What if the true intent behind excavations and site preservation isn’t as noble as we’ve been led to believe? What if everything you see at the most famous archaeological sites in the world is all just a facade?

Vintage Frankly

This one wasn’t Quite Frankly, but it was one for the books. Take a step back in time with Zedalza New York. Go way back to last month and watch the “Saturday Night Special: Zedalza New York 2/22/2025”.

Featuring Mike and Anthony, this episode saw the original broadcast crew reunited. Zedalza New York was the show that kicked off Frank’s passion for broadcasting and new media. What started as a late-night talk-show at Frank’s old college stomping grounds back in 2006, eventually evolved into the show we now know and love as Quite Frankly. The guys chat about their growth over the decades, share some of their fondest segments and guest memories, and all the crazy moments that came along with ZNY.
