Canine Friends Rally
Sanctioned by Texas Region SCCA
Proceeds to benefit North Dallas Dog Rescue
This will be a basic sign hunt rally, with a canine theme. This road rally event, run at legal speeds in your own car, will have no course following traps. Just bring yourself, a partner to drive or navigate, a full tank of gas, and a pencil.
Prepare to have fun looking for answers to questions from signs along the route. These questions may be from the news, common knowledge, or even puns, so we will test your brain a bit.
The cost will be $25 for SCCA members, $35 for non-members ($5 discount if pre-registered at www.tinyurl.com/CFF10msr).
Start/Registration: Courtyard of Mary Ellen’s Tea Room (same shopping center as Fireplug Grooming) 144 Spring Creek Village Road , Dallas, TX 75248
Registration opens: 9 am Mandatory novice safety briefing at 9:30 am First Car leaves the start: 10:01 am
End Location: Heritage Park, Sachse, Texas, with a hot dog picnic provided.
When you are done you will get a soda, chips, and a hot dog, and you might get to meet a couple of adoptable dogs too.

Texas Region SCCA (www.texasscca.org) is affiliated with the Sports Car Club of America (www.scca.org). With nearly 60,000 members, and with regions all over the US, the club offers car related activities in a broad range of automotive events.
A road rally is not a contest of speed or racing. The challenge is to follow a prescribed course at legal speeds and to read signs and landmarks along the route to find answers to questions supplied by the organizers much like a scavenger hunt.
This is the third event in the 2009
a projected six event championship of entertaining road rallies.

This rally is sanctioned as a Regional Rally by SCCA, and a part of the National SCCA RoadRally Championship. Sanction Number 2010-RG-41-04.
Event requirements
There must be at least 2 people in every rally car. The driver must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The car must be in good mechanical condition. If one of the rally car occupants is a minor (under 18 years old), that person must have an SCCA "Minor Release" signed by both parents in the presence of either the rally registrar or a Notary Public. The form is available from rally@texasscca.org, or at registration.
