Project Overview
The E. Broad Street corridor project area totals over 1.5 miles of roadway between Parsons Avenue and Nelson Road. This section of Broad Street is part of an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Urban Repaving Project, which will resurface the existing street in 2026. Prior to resurfacing, the City is studying different options to restripe the roadway in order to improve safety and provide dedicated bike infrastructure.

E. Broad Street is on the City’s High Injury Network and has a high number of crashes involving vulnerable roadway users, including people walking, biking, and riding motorcycles. This study will assess the feasibility of reallocating vehicular travel lanes to accommodate protected bike lanes. The goal of this project is to create a safe and direct connection between the Scioto Trail and the Alum Creek Trail, connecting to proposed improvements on Broad Street downtown.
