Inn from the Cold relies on the generosity of Calgarians to fund over 70% of our annual operations to support more then 2,500 family members and kids facing a housing crisis in our city. You can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable families by committing to raise funds to support the work we do.

GrayBar is a home-based, hidden cocktail speakeasy…  that we built here in our home in the original 1949 Jewish Synagogue in Victoria Park…. where we don’t charge for drinks (they’re free!), but rather ask friends/fam to donate to charity (Inn from the Cold - the homeless shelter for children and their families) as the contribution.  And we provide all the spirits, wine, bubbles and snacks for our karmically minded guests. V makes snacks and I make craft custom cocktails from your Passport.   Google decided to list us as a ‘real’ bar business and now we get lots of requests - and are happy to meet new cool friends to drink with, who help the Inn.  

Guests first book a time with us (when we are home and free to do a hosting!), and then donate $250 - $500 per person to the Inn using this Zeffy campaign.

The Inn is a registered charity so you’ll get a tax receipt direct from them.  Nothing flows thru us -  you donate directly to the Inn - we are doing this to drive support for the Inn, and share cocktails with cool new people. 

As Doug puts it:  "Child homelessness is real, it is here in our city, mere blocks from you right now.... and that tears my heart apart!   But we can change this trajectory so children and their families don't face this life changing trauma.  We can help our fellow Calgarians, our community members and our future by supporting the Inn."
