Education in the art of dance provides students with deep, thought-provoking experiences that combine many art forms and disciplines.

The instrumental value of education in the art of dance includes physical health, emotional maturation (increased self-confidence, self-esteem, self-identity, self-reflection, in addition to being communal in nature and helping those that normally feel isolated/alone), social awareness and cognitive development (create and communicate meaning, higher-order thinking skills, inventive problem solver) and academic achievement (develop focus, concentration, discipline, creativity, problem-solving skills, self-assessment skills, remember patterns, sequences relationships, forms and structures). Dance education can help close the gap to equalize academic achievement among students.
