COVID-19 Is The CoronaVirus

...but first, what is COVID-19?

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause disease in animals. Seven, including the new virus, have made the jump to humans, but most just cause cold-like symptoms. Covid-19 is closely related to severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars) which swept around the world in 2002 to 2003. Telegraph uk (March 2020).

Watch Dr Sanjay Gupta, Chief Medical Correspondent at CNN explain how the coronavirus spreads through the human body.

According to Coronavirus Death Toll and Trends via Worldometer, 27441 people have died so far from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as of March 28, 2020, 09:14 GMT. There are currently 601,536 confirmed cases in 199 countries and territories . The fatality rate is still being assessed.
As COVID-19 takes its destructive toll hospitals etc are feeling the strain due to an increasing need for life saving equipment such as ventilators as not only cases but medics experience extreme stress and exhaustion due to low levels of professional medical support and minimal access to PPE and other forms of occupational protection.
