Hello everybody,
I am currently building my town of Piville, a planned 400x400 dedicated to the four european capitals Berlin, London, Paris and Rome. My current project is the Berlin district. As the heart of the 200x200 Berlin area, I am planning to place the "Brandenburger Tor" (Quicklink to Wikipedia). I am willing to give a prize money of 20,000$ to the one who enters with his best replica of it until July 20th. The base area is defined as a 70x30, however it can go wider in a greater height as long as the lowest y coord is really 30x70 blocks at max. It can be a little smaller if you need to. If you want to participate, please sign up until July 20th with the following format:

The competiton will end about 6pm GMT on july 20th. At that time I will start taking a look at the entries and announce the winner either the same day or the following day.
Build the gate in creative singleplayer (Best would be a superflat world) and then share it here.

Important note: The original Brandenburg gate has smaller buildings at its sides, however I only want the gate itself (Look at the attached file, I marked it).

*It is not possible for the same player to win both the main prize and the special prize. The special prize will only be given out if one gate is judged as the best, but another has the better quadriga (The statue on top).

 

No, it can/has to be built in (creative) singleplayer. Then you can upload screenshots of it or optionally a dropbox download link to your creation.

And well, if there are good entries in the competiton I will choose from them. Else I might take a look at Ike's if it has the right dimensions.

 

That is correct, you build it in singleplayer and then share the uploaded screenshots here. An additional dropbox download of the world is optional, but useful.

 

You may add more real-life replicas, as long as you don't exceed the ground limit. Made the suggestion of the gate only because of the limited space.

Yes, I imagined something like that. Now lets see what the others will hand in!
Concerning the quadriga, it's true that it is hard to replicate it so small. If the winner's Brandenburg gate doesn't have a perfect quadriga but everything else, I will take it and might give the participant with the best quadriga compatible with it a small bonus prize. I'll decide when the signup time ends!

Oh, and a dropbox link would be great!

Well, I want it to be as realistic as possible, so probably no.

 

You take them with the F2 key. Hit Windows key + R to open the run console, type %appdata%/.minecraft/screenshots and then upload the image to Imgut.com or any other upload site. Then you post the picture URL here. (Only works on windows, don't know about mac)
