Artists must be 18+ and based in the United States.

Artists must submit image or video files of their artwork and an artist statement, and a link to their website (if applicable). 

The artist must transport all artwork to the McLean County Arts Center at their own expense. The McLean County Arts Center will return delivered artwork to artists at the gallery’s expense. All deliveries of artwork must be made to the McLean County Arts Center, 601 N. East Street, Bloomington, Illinois 61701. 

Artwork must be delivered or dropped off at McLean County Arts Center 10 days prior to the opening of the exhibition, and arranged in advance with the Curator.

Artwork must be picked up within 10 days of the closing of the exhibition, or will be mailed within 10 days of the closing of the exhibition, and arranged in advance with the Curator. 

Work must be framed and prepped ready to install. Two-dimensional work must be framed or stretched canvas should be equipped with hanging devices on the back. We do not accept work with sawtooth hangers. Preferably all pieces should be prepared the same for continuity and ease of hanging (i.e. wires at the same level, D-rings or other hardware placed in the same location.) Textiles or other work not intended for framing may be hung without a frame. McLean County Arts Center offers podiums and other display options. If the work is complex, the Artist should consult with gallery staff prior to installation.

All work must have the artist’s name and title of the piece written on the back or on a card securely attached to the back of the piece. 

McLean County retains a 40% commission of all sales from the exhibition to contribute toward administrative and overhead costs. Within 30 days of the exhibition close, the artist will be paid 60% of the price on all works sold. 

Local state sales tax of 8.75% will be added to all purchases. All sales tax collected and receipts for sales will be sent by email to the artist with the proceeds on works sold. The artist is responsible for remitting sales tax to the state of Illinois. 

Works purchased during the exhibition period will not be removed from the gallery before the close of the exhibition.

McLean County Arts Center is not responsible for shipping or transportation expenses of purchased work.

The McLean County Art Center is protected by 24-hour video surveillance and a motion detector alarm system. During open business hours, the gallery is attended by staff members.

All works displayed in McLean County Art Center are covered under a $100,000 blanket policy in the event of property damage or theft. 

Work will be displayed in a secure case for the duration of the exhibition and stored in a locked location before and after the exhibition.
