"America's Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a  New America"
Our program year at SJE begins on Sunday, September 13, and one of our first Formation offerings will be a four-week book study on Jim Wallis' book, /America's Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America/. Wallis is an American theologian, writer, teacher and political activist. He is best known as the founder and editor of Sojourners magazine and as the founder of the Washington, D.C.-based Christian community of the same name.

The book study will take the place of Intro to the Hebrew Bible for those five weeks, and will gather online on Zoom each Monday at 8:00pm. To guide the study, Humanity for Prisoners is creating a Study Guide that we can use to go along with the book. Our hope is that this will all be a great lead-up to a special online event that HfP is bringing to our area—Jim Wallis himself to speak to residents of the Tri-Cities and engage in conversation!

Sign-up below to be a part of the program. We'll send out a study guide and reading schedule in the beginning of September so you can be prepared for our first Zoom meeting on Monday, September 21, at 8:00pm!
