Thanks to your generosity and continued support, your temple, The Siva Vishnu Temple (SSVT) is doing well with more of you visiting the temple in person. Watching pujas online through live streams has been replaced by devotees coming in person and the increasing devotee participation has been wonderful. We recently completed a successful Mahotsavam – “Sri Ananthapadmanabha(Vishnu) Vaibhava Mahotsavam” with Her Highness Pooyam Thirunal Gouri Parvathi Bayi , Travancore Royal Family gracing the occasion. 

We are happy to announce that after many years of trying we have resident Nadaswaram & Tavil artists performing for all religious events enhancing the auspiciousness of the events. With the concerted efforts of the management, you have seen the granite flooring completed to improve the interior aesthetics of the temple. We believe that Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

A long- awaited HVAC replacement has been completed. This project replaced the original HVAC equipment (chillers, air handling units, boilers and all associated equipment) with modern and energy efficient systems. We are embarking on replacing the 30 plus year old mahamandpam roof,and repairing the prakaram to stop the leaks and protect the structure and the areas on the lower level. Life safety system upgrades (fire alarm panel and sprinkler system) are also being undertaken.

We are still working through the permit process with WSSC on the Sai Mandir utlitiy work, but hope to resume construction very soon. Located at the original Balalaya location, the SSVT Sai Mandir will have Baba shrine on the main level and Vasavi Matha on the upper level. The new mandir is being built so that both Sai devotees and Vasavi Matha devotees can offer prayers to their Ishta devatas. 

For a temple of our stature, the amount of endowment is quite paltry. Our focus with this fundraiser is to raise awareness on the capital projects and the need for endowment funds. Funds in the endowment fund are invested and any dividends are reinvested. Our goal is to to have a healthy and adequate endowment fund so that SSVT can be self sustaining in the future.

As you know, we have been conducting our Annual Fundraiser virtually for the last four years. It is TIME for us to go back to pre-Covid era of conducting the fundraiser in person. With that in mind, we are arranging for an in-person  fundraiser, a musical extravaganza with catered dinner a the Eleanor Roosevelt High School auditorium in Lanham on Saturday, November 9, 2024.This year's highlight for the gala will be the performances by Vijay TV  Super Singers with live orchestra. They will sing movie songs in all South Indian languages and also a few numbers in Hindi.

It is with pleasure that we invite you all to attend the event and enjoy an evening of fun, frolic and good food. Seating is limited and available on a first come first served basis. Please register for the event.
