  • Application

Please complete the form below to apply to be staff or a mentor during the Roots to Rise Cultural Enrichment Camp July 15-19. Stand in For Nebraska is inspired to gather youth grades K-8 for this experience and looking for caring, culturally affirming individuals to create community. Roots to Rise is a youth program to empower holistic health and wellness and promote a positive future construct. It is led by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) adults and peer mentors. Camp has been developed with traditional Indigenous ways at the center. Roots to Rise is a multi-dimensional program using cultural arts, language, food, and environmental land connection studies to reach, ignite, uplift, and empower Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. It will provide decolonizing, Indigenous pedagogy outdoors at 6141 N 14th St (Northern Lighthouse Church). By building up the youth and cultivating their identities and knowledge, they will develop strength to sustain themselves and their communities.
