Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2018 · 29 July 2018 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

In this, my 50th year, I have set myself the challenge of completing the London Classics: the London Marathon in April, the London - Surrey 100 mile bike ride in July and the Serpentine 2 mile swim in September, all to raise valuable funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

As a secondary school teacher I have been privileged to meet hundreds, if not thousands of amazing young people; but the sad truth is that I have seen teenagers affected by cancer in every school I have worked in. My own niece was diagnosed with leukaemia. Cancer does not discriminate by wealth, intellect, geography or ambition.

Training time is short, and I am unlikely to break any records; however I am more motivated than ever to complete these challenges so that I can play a small part in improving the life chances of young people who may never get the chance to do something similar.

I am so grateful for any donations and for all the support I know I will get along the way.

Thank you!
