AARJ Black History Month Youth Art Contest

Hi, We are the Avondale Alliance for Racial Justice. Help support talented young artists by becoming a sponsor! We are raising funds to support our 4th Annual Art Contest for local youth in celebration of Black History Month. We award cash prizes and certificates for up to 16 winners in 4 age categories from 5 to 19. The student art is displayed during our awards ceremony and on our webpage. The purpose of this event is to create a vision for hope through a creative platform as we move toward accountability and healing for all. Artistic expression has been a beautiful foundation in the movements for equality and justice throughout history. We invite you to support our youth in sharing their feelings, inspirations and visions for change with us all.

The contest is open to all elementary through high school age students (5 to 19) who either live in Avondale or attend Avondale Elementary, DeKalb School for the Arts Elementary and High Schools, The Museum School, Druid Hills Middle and High Schools, The Friends School and The Waldorf School. AARJ is a local community-led movement taking an active role in fighting institutional racism through education, activism and accountability. We are located in Avondale Estates, Georgia in the Metro Atlanta area.
