  1. Our story begins:
  2. The Flip
---
Instructions/tips: A great story has a FLIP -- a moment when your perspective changes from what you thought or who you were at the beginning of the story.  Figure out what the FLIP is, and then the beginning of your story is how you establish what you believed BEFORE the flip.

Example: Please watch this story by expert storyteller Matthew Dickshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGf6WTFsqPE Here's an example based on his story of how you might do this synopsis
  1. Our story begins: I was a jaded public school teacher on recess duty during a game of "never have I ever"
  2. The Flip: After the kids and I all share painful examples of "Never have I ever met my fathers expectations" and one girl tells me she's sorry that my father abandoned me when I was 7, it reinforces to me why I continue to teach public school.
