A group of Paetūmokai Featherston locals have come together with a vision to construct Featherston’s very first Community Bouldering wall for the benefit of our rangatahi and wider community.

Bouldering is rock climbing stripped down to its raw essentials. Leaving behind ropes and harnesses and just using climbing shoes and a bag of chalk (over safety mats), the challenge is to climb short but tricky bouldering routes using balance, technique, strength, and your brain. Bouldering is not only a physical activity but also helps to foster mental resilience, teamwork and social interaction.

You don't need experience or lots of expensive gear to try Bouldering - making this activity really easy to get into if you've never tried it before. Anyone of any age can give it a go!

We’d love to hear what you think!

Please register your interest by completing the form below so we can show the community’s support for this idea to stakeholders and funders.

We'd also love to hear from you if you are a rangatahi / youth who'd like to get involved in organising this project - and how we can make this project really inclusive and welcoming to everyone in our community.

If you register by including your e-mail, we'll keep you fully updated on any developments. You can also check out our facebook page here.

Together we can make this dream a reality!
