Calling all co-operative housing enthusiasts in Toronto and beyond!
Are you interested in living in a housing co-op or expanding the housing co-op sector?
Co-op residents and community members (who don't live in co-ops but want to) have organized this initial convening to present some ideas to expand existing and create new housing co-operatives in Toronto. MPP Chris Glover, Spadina-Fort York, will co-host the event, as will Diana Yoon, on behalf of the More Co-operative Housing Collective.
Please fill out this form to RSVP by Tuesday, March 16th. Zoom link will be sent out on the day of the event.
We'll have some presentations, Q&A, and breakout discussions to hear from you. Speakers include:
-- Michael Labbé, Home Opportunities Non-profit Corporation
-- Gabriela Russek & Raquel Figueroa, Frankel Lambert Outreach Committee (FLOC)
-- Daniel Miller & Brel Hutton-Okpalaeke, NASCO co-ops
Once we're in breakout rooms, we want to know what has been your experience with co-op housing (e.g. forever being on a waitlist)? Have you tried or seen examples of expanding housing co-ops?
