Exolith Lab High School Volunteer/Intern Application
This is the application form for a high school position at Exolith Lab. All positions are eligible for Bright Futures and internship credit hours, meaning they will be non-paid. We have two positions at Exolith Lab, for which students may apply to both. If applying to both positions, please submit separate applications. Details on both are listed below.

Simulant Engineer Internship: you will be working on our production team and helping make regolith simulant (space dirt) for researchers around the globe. This will involve rock crushing, simulant production, packaging, and shipping products with other simulant engineers. You will have access to ongoing space research and learn industrial STEM processes throughout your internship. It is recommended that you DO NOT APPLY if you are not willing to handle constant manual labor inside/outside and not willing to get dirty. We are very "hands-on" and not your typical research lab.

Requirements to work at Exolith are as follows. If you do not meet this criteria, your application may not be accepted.
1. Must be a minimum age of 15 years old
2. Be able to commit to working in the volunteer position for a minimum of 3 months without large periods of absence.
3. Interest in STEM research, preferably in the Space Sciences (ex. Physics, Engineering, Biology, Mathematics, Geology, Chemistry, etc.).
4. Must be able to work a minimum of 8-12 hours per week, with shifts during the weekdays and weekends.
5. Be able to carry a weight of 45 lbs (20 kgs) multiple times throughout a day.

After submission, your application will be reviewed and an email may be sent for a primary interview after initial screening. At least 2 candidates are hired monthly to work at Exolith lab. Due to high application rates, you may be interviewed for the following hiring period instead of the one you apply for. You may submit multiple times for the different hiring months. Applicants are notified of interviews around 1.5 months in advance of desired hiring period.

Tips for Applying to Exolith:
1. We are looking for diverse applicants, any area of STEM research is acceptable. We are looking for passionate students that are interested in possibly having a career in the space industry.
