JAY LIVINGSTONE BEng(Hons), MSc, Cert Ed

A very warm welcome to my website, the home for my research.

My main passion in life is researching into, and understanding, illness, health and wellbeing. I have intimate experience of Chronic health conditions (CHCs), being both a sufferer and carer for most of my life, and they have affected me deeply in three main ways:

  1. As a PhD researcher, I explore the relationship between sufferers and CHCs, and enquire into whether different ways of relating to chronic conditions may aid recovery, allowing for a moment of change to occur - something I term the 'tipping point.'

  2. As a therapist, I use multi-modal/trans-disciplinary methods to help people understand their illness and start on the road to recovery.

  3. As a public speaker, workshop facilitator and trainer, I help people to investigate their illness, engaging with the wisdom and messages that their illness conveys.

I have found that during my journey with chronic illness, a deep connection with Nature is a key component to health, stability and the road to recovery. I love to walk in Nature and enjoy visiting sacred sites as I believe that connecting with the elements connects us to something greater.

Within these pages I extend an invitation to explore with me, and question general assumptions about, the accepted notions of ‘reality’ and illness.
