It follows the adventures of Kit's Kite who, on one windy day, blew away from his owner. The Kite travels to many places on his windswept journey including a beach, a playground, a funfair, a forest, a city and a town and experiences through many types of weather conditions along the way. During the journey, the Kite encounters various smells, sights and sounds until it is reunited with its owner, Kit.

The illustrations feature all types of children and are very diverse both in ethnicity and in physical ability so every child can see themselves represented.

Authored by best friends Lana and Niki, they have drawn on their backgrounds of working in special needs education (Lana is a PMLD, SLD and autism specialist) and in children's TV. They have crafted a one-of-a-kind reading experience that caters to neurotypical and neurodiverse children alike. This book is a result of their deep understanding of what children need for their development and enjoy for their entertainment.

I bought this book on a recommendation for my grandson. It's perfect! As well as a lovely story, it's also packed with actions to follow along with and sensory activities and recipes too! At bedtime, we read the story (which he loves) and look at the beautiful pictures. During the day he follows along with the actions and we've taken it out to the park so he can enjoy it outdoors. We've also done some of the fun sensory activities and made the jam as well! Highly recommend it!
