Welcome to our study!

You are invited to take part in a research study named “Chess in Mind". The study is designed to learn more about how chess players can mentally prepare for their games. It is a non-commercial study and the results will be used for scientific purposes only. 

The study is being conducted by the undergraduate honors student Frank McPhillips, the postdoctoral fellow Birte Thissen, and the faculty sponsor Prof. Gabriele Oettingen at the NYU Department of Psychology.
