Join Zelda Edmunds, POCAtech graduate living in Detroit, and Shanell Rodriguez, acupunk at Boise Acupuncture Co-op, for a discussion about imagining safer clinic communities where we will explore alternatives to calling the police.

In this POCA/live! event we hope everyone leaves with a deeper understanding about why creating alternatives to calling the police is important in our clinics, an awareness of personal police-calling thresholds, and sharing of tangible examples and tools around resource mapping that expands beyond 911.

This will be an interactive event where all are encouraged to participate, including in a smaller break-out session. People of varying politics are welcomed and encouraged to attend. We ask you to enter this event with a base acknowledgement that white supremacy is embedded in policing practices and an openness to thinking together around ways to create safer communities.
