Chief justice questions Carson judge’s ability to finish redistricting; he assures her he can do it

In an astonishing exchange of letters, Chief Justice Nancy Saitta raised questions about Carson Judge Todd Russell's ability to handle redistricting, offering to appoint another judge. But Russell immediately responded that he can get the job done on time and well before candidate filing.

Both letters are posted at right and we're written two weeks before today's filing of an emergency writ with the Supreme Court by Secretary of State Ross Miller, asking the high court to weigh in on the issue:
