Ως Δημοκρατική Κίνηση Κυπρίων Φοιτητών ΑΓΩΝΑ Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου είναι καθήκον μας να δράσουμε ενάντια στην προσβλητική πράξη του Τουρκικού Society KCL στο Πανεπιστήμιο Kings College London. Για ακόμα ένα χρόνο βλέπουμε πράξεις που υποβιβάζουν την νομιμότητα της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και την ιδιά ώρα αναγνωρίζουν το ψευδοκράτος.

To Toυρκικο society στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Kings College London οργανώνει εκδήλωση, με την ονομασία “Cyprus: Status Quo or Anew?”  στις 29 Ιανουαρίου που αναφέρετε στα κατεχόμενα εδάφη μας ως “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” με προσκεκλημένο τον λεγόμενο “Υπουργό Εξωτερικών” κ. Κούντρετ Όζερσάι

Δυστυχώς, το Kings College London αγνοεί το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας του ΟΗΕ, που στις 18 Νοεμβρίου 1983, με το Ψήφισμα 541, καταδικάζει την δημιουργία της ΤΔΒΚ και καλεί την ίδια ώρα όλα τα κράτη να μην αναγνωρίζουν οποιοδήποτε κράτος, πέραν από αυτό της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, επιτρέποντας στο Turkish Society να προβεί σε προκλητική εκδήλωση-αναγνώριση του ψευδοκράτους, αγνοώντας τόσο τους 200 000 πρόσφυγες του νησιού, τους νεκρούς της Τουρκικής εισβολής και την θηριώδη καταπάτηση των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων όλων των κατοίκων του νησιού.

Αισθανόμαστε υποχρέωσή μας ως ΑΓΩΝΑΣ, οντάς πιστοί στα ιδανικά και τις αξίες μας, να καταδικάσουμε την εκδήλωση αυτή και εκφράζουμε τη δυσαρέσκειά μας για την γενικότερα ανοχή και έλλειψη ευαισθητοποίησης από το Kings College London.

Ως ΑΓΩΝΑΣ, και ευσυνείδητοι φοιτητές και πολίτες της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, της μόνης διεθνούς αναγνωρισμένης οντότητας στο νησί  καλούμε:

-        Την μαζική καταδίκη της εκδήλωσης από όλους του φοιτητές και Κυπριακά Πανεπιστημιακά society, την ΕΦΕΚ Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, και κοινωνικούς και πολιτικούς φορείς της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου.

-        Την ενεργή καταδίκη της εκδήλωση από το Kings College London

-        Την μη διεξαγωγή της οποιασδήποτε εκδήλωσης με οποιοδήποτε τρόπο που να αναγνωρίζει το ψευδοκράτος.

 

Ως ΑΓΩΝΑΣ Η.Β., θα σταθούμε απέναντι σε όποιον νομιμοποιεί τα εγκλήματα πολέμου της Τουρκίας από το 1974 και αναγνωρίζει το κατοχικό έκτρωμα-ψευδοκράτος.

The Democratic Movement of Cypriot Students (D.M.C.S), AGONAS UK, finds it responsible to take action against the insulting and provocative event by the Kings College London Turkish Society which aims to undermine the sole internationally recognized state on the island, the Republic of Cyprus, by formally recognizing the illegal pseudo-state called “The Turkish Republic of Cyprus”.

The Turkish Society is hosting an event on January 29th referring to Cyprus’ Occupied Areas, as “Turkish Republic of Cyprus” hosting the pseudo-“Foreign Minister”, Mr. Kudret Ozersay to speak at the event called “Cyprus: Status Quo or Anew?” .

In allowing the event to take place, it is with great sorrow that we believe that Kings College London is ignoring the UN Security Council Resolution 541, which condemns the creation of the TRNC and call all states to not recognize any other state on the island, other than the Republic of Cyprus. The permission of this event would ignore the 200 000 refugees prevented from returning home by Turkish occupying troops and the numerous human rights violations caused from it, including mass murders and illegal settling.

Faithful to our ideals and values, AGONAS condemns the event and expresses its discontent towards the Kings College London for ignoring the outright provocative action by the Turkish Society and its lack of awareness of the situation on the island.

We call:

-        For a mass condemnation of the event by all students in UK Universities, University societies, the Cypriot Student Federation and social and political entities in both the Republic of Cyprus and the United Kingdom.

-        For the condemnation of the event by Kings College London

-        For the prevention of any event taking place that directly or indirectly recognizes the illegal “TRNC”.

As D.M.C.S AGONAS we will stand against anyone who violates the human rights of the people of the Republic of Cyprus, legitimizes the 1974 Turkish Invasion and recognizes the illegal “TRNC”
