Another double header!

The Rabbitts  Genre-blending folk band The Rabbitts have been described as "ethereal and understated" on BBC Radio 6 Music. Their unique and colourful sound is characterised by delicate harmonies and an intricately interwoven tapestry of mandolin, guitar, bass, and drums.  The Rabbitts played for us last year and were very well- received. They say they are an ever evolving group who are constantly creating and rarely staying still - so be prepared for something different. 

Eric Sedge  is a distinctive voice in the world of Folk and Roots music. With stories and songs from his native East Anglia and the Yorkshire Dales where he’s made his home, he embraces both traditional and contemporary styles playing Festivals and Concert Halls thoughout the country, along with appearances on Radio and TV.  "Books and music, forest and fields were his playground and now his inspiration."

Lunatraktors

I am a big fan of the Lunatraktors. They offer an experience which I am sure will linger on long after the evening as ended. They are a collaboration between choreographer and percussionist Carli Jefferson and vocalist and researcher Clair Le Couteur. Starting in 2017 with an apocalyptic question – What's left when we've lost everything? – the project strips down folk to the basics of rhythm and voice. Jefferson’s hybrid of tap dance, flamenco and body percussion, developed after touring with STOMP (2001-2004), meets Le Couteur’s self-taught overtone singing and 3+ octave range. This is the foundation of what they call their style of 'broken folk'. The hard-hitting social commentary is enhanced  through the use of harmonic singing, dance, accordion, and whistles. Not to be missed.
