Angelina Sophia Hernandez was twice blessed to be a two-time double lung transplant recipient, 2005 and 2019, from the Texas Children's Hospital Lung Transplant Program, located in Houston, Texas. 

​Angelina was a very special and brave young lady who always had a cheerful smile and hug to share. Many of her friends at TCH learned quickly there are more than 30 shades of pink, and that is before you bring on the glitter. Angelina spent her time enjoying movies, coloring, drawing, and cross-stitching. Angelina's gift was to find happiness and joy despite her medical circumstances, and share it with everyone. Angelina would say "I just want to live Life!" and she lived her life to the fullest.​

Lung transplants unfortunately do not last a lifetime today.  More research is still needed to extend the longevity of donated lungs for recipients.
