Calling hours will be from 4 to 7pm, Tuesday, June 9 at Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am, Wednesday, June 10 at Saint Timothy's, 1799 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence. All activities will be performed using social distancing and safety precautions for attendees.

Online Memorial Celebration for Paul J McNeil
Wednesday, June 17, 2020
5:30 - 8 pm

Join friends and loved ones to share memories and celebrate the life of Paul McNeil. A man of faith, a labor historian, union advocate, peace activist, a fighter for LGBTQ and racial justice, and a cherished friend. Paul's life encompassed so many struggles for a better world, and he impacted so many of us.

We will be sharing video moments from Paul's in-person funeral services, including testimonials from friends, excerpts of the inspirational social justice-themed funeral mass by Paul's dear friend Father Ray Tetrault, and the touching farewell flute melodies of another dear friend Phil Edmonds.

We will also be sharing photos and a few short videos of Paul conveying his wit and insights in his own words. All who attend the online memorial will also be welcome to share a memory, poem, or song in honor of Paul.

*A note on Zoom vs. Facebook Live:  If you attend online via Zoom you can share a story / song / poem, see other attendees, be visibly present, speak to other attendees, and share comments (if you choose), whereas via Facebook Live you can watch the celebration and share written comments, but your direct participation is limited. If you haven't used Zoom before, you can download the free app on your smartphone or computer and it's pretty user friendly. When you join the Zoom "meeting" make sure to "enable video" if you'd like to be visibly included among the group of attendees. One other important thing to remember on Zoom is to be conscious of your audio (the visible control for this is a picture of a microphone in your lower screen), to make sure you are muted (picture of microphone shown with a red slash through it) when others are sharing so the myriad beautiful background sounds of households do not distract us. And conversely, when you are going to speak, please make sure to unmute your audio (no red slash over the microphone symbol).

While we'd love to have people present on Zoom if possible, whichever is most accessible for you, it will be wonderful to share in the spirit of Paul.
